WIP Wednesday, sort of...

This isn't a typical WIP Wednesday post, because my WIP of the moment is something I'm not ready to share yet!

But of course, I'm a big fan of sneak peaks!

Untitled

This top is already pieced, and its been basted and quilted about 1/4 of the way. I never remember how much basting sucks until I'm crawling on the floor. I guess it's my fault for always making quilts that are too big to be basted on a table!

Untitled

I should be ready to share it sometime next week, hopefully!

  6. Ooh, judging by the fabrics I'm sure its brilliant!
I think for most of us basting is the one part of quilting that is the least fun, but for me its that one step before my favorite part, quilting. That always gets me exited though.

    1. Yep! Basting, while being sucky, it the first time I can see a top turning into a quilt, and that's pretty gratifying :-)

  8. I'm part of the "I Hate Basting" club myself. Which might be why I have so many unquilted tops lurking about... Lovely colors in your project :-)

    1. I usually baste a top soon after it's finished, to avoid having to press it again to baste it later. I hate pressing almost as much as basting!

    1. Yes! I stepped on it after the layers were put on top of each other and I was like "ooh! Its a quilt!" There is a big difference between a finished top and a basted quilt!

  14. Basting hassle ....all those bent basting pins knotted up in a pile! Isn't that fun? I'm with you...my least favorite part of quilting is basting.

  17. hmmm, curious to see just what you are working on :) The worst part about basting is having to clean the floors first ;)
