This isn't a typical WIP Wednesday post, because my WIP of the moment is something I'm not ready to share yet!
But of course, I'm a big fan of sneak peaks!
This top is already pieced, and its been basted and quilted about 1/4 of the way. I never remember how much basting sucks until I'm crawling on the floor. I guess it's my fault for always making quilts that are too big to be basted on a table!
I should be ready to share it sometime next week, hopefully!
Nice fabric! Your scrappy trip made me laugh. I did EXACTLY the same thing last week! Love those quilts though. They are fun.
ReplyDeletetotally in love with the colors you choosed, and oh yes, the basting thing, I hate it crawling on the floor for most time about 2 hours lol
ReplyDeleteLovely bright colours! I think basting is the worst part of quilting!
ReplyDeleteI hate basting!! Have fun with it...anxious to see the finish
ReplyDeleteLove what i can see so far! I'm with ya on the basting too! I finally just said forget it and i spray baste everything now!
ReplyDeleteOoh, judging by the fabrics I'm sure its brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI think for most of us basting is the one part of quilting that is the least fun, but for me its that one step before my favorite part, quilting. That always gets me exited though.
Yep! Basting, while being sucky, it the first time I can see a top turning into a quilt, and that's pretty gratifying :-)
DeleteI agree, judging by those fabrics it is going to be lovely! Can't wait to see the reveal! :)
ReplyDeleteI am stopping by from the WIP hop, hop on by if you can! http://domesticdeficitdisorder.blogspot.com/2013/06/wip-wednesday-june-4th-edition.html
I love your dresden! What fabric did you use? I love the colors! Thanks for linking up! :-)
DeleteI'm part of the "I Hate Basting" club myself. Which might be why I have so many unquilted tops lurking about... Lovely colors in your project :-)
ReplyDeleteI usually baste a top soon after it's finished, to avoid having to press it again to baste it later. I hate pressing almost as much as basting!
Deletei don't mind basting so much because I am always just excited to be at that point with a quilt! your sneek peak is tantalizing. =) hope to see it next week.
ReplyDeleteYes! I stepped on it after the layers were put on top of each other and I was like "ooh! Its a quilt!" There is a big difference between a finished top and a basted quilt!
DeleteI hear you on the basting! Great sneak peek :)
ReplyDeleteThe colours are awesome! Can't wait to see more :)
ReplyDeleteI have same basting work to do tonight. I hate this part though - might put it off until tomorrow! :)
ReplyDeleteHard to go wrong with those pretty fabrics! Look forward to seeing what you'r up to!
ReplyDeleteBasting hassle ....all those bent basting pins knotted up in a pile! Isn't that fun? I'm with you...my least favorite part of quilting is basting.
ReplyDeleteyeah, you can't take just one out of the jar!
Deleteohhh the suspense! I am loving that fabric on top with the blue flowers:) Just found ya on thursday threads. Love your work. Following on bloglovin'
ReplyDeleteYeah I wish I could make one for table basting as well lol Hope you tackle it and get it out of the way:)
ReplyDeletehmmm, curious to see just what you are working on :) The worst part about basting is having to clean the floors first ;)
ReplyDeleteI want to know you're very mean to just post some gorgeous fabrics and tease us this way! :-) I can't wait for the reveal!
