A field trip!

Last weekend I went to the Original Sewing and Quilting Expo in Fredericksburg! It was my first time at that particular one, and to be honest, the only one I've been to besides the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show in Hampton. The Fredericksburg show is MUCH smaller than the Hampton one, but it also had a more modern lean, so that was a lot of fun.

Here is some of the amazing pieces they were showing - there were pieces by Victoria Findlay Wolfe, Ebony Love, Elizabeth Dackson, Mary Fons, and Heather Jones, among others. There were also quite a few pieces that were quilted by Angela Walters and Lisa Sipes, and I *might* have had a few fangirl moments. ;-)

I hope you enjoyed the little field trip! I'll share my swag this weekend ;-)

  1. Thanks for sharing. I skipped this show this year, too much buying temptation!!! So cool to see quilts I have seen in magazines. You must not be too far from me, I'm near Richmond, Va.

  2. I love the graphic black and white ones!

Honestly, I think I like some of the smaller shows better. When I go to the big ones, I get very overwhelmed and find myself feeling all kinds of inadequate! At the smaller ones, I can look at each quilt and all the details without being in a hurry to "see them all". :)

  3. lovely to see the quilts, such a variety, thought I might share which is my favourite but impossible to pick one as there are so many I love. Love going to the shows as if gives me so many things to think about and I stand in awe gazing at the wonderful quilts on show, the last show I took 300 photos!
