Quilt Fatigue

Do you guys ever get that? When you've been working on a piece that you really like, and you're really excited about it being finished, but you just don't want to work on it? I guess that's why we all tend to have piles of WIPs, I suppose.

As an aside: this is the 100th post!! Whaaaaat??

I love this quilt. I'm *soclose* to finishing it. But it's gotten a little tedious. I know what I'm going to start next, and there are a couple other things things that I could (should?) be working on as well. But I'm in one of those moods where I need to "finish what I start... in that order(ish)".

I think that's why I've been doing pouches and whatnot and quick little one-sitting projects (I'll share more of those later this week!). It makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something.

I have six blocks left on this quilt. Yes, that's all. I need to just hunker down and get them done. And I will. I guess I just feel like griping about it in the meantime...

See, it's all ready to go. No excuses!!

Empty plates mean progress, at least!

  2. Isn't this the On a Whim Pattern? It's one of my favorite designs, though I've yet to make it. I like that you used the greenish color as your base.

    1. It is on a whim! I really like it. The background is kona candy green.

  3. We all get that sometimes! And when we do get to work on them.... they are lots of fun! And then you wonder why you did not finish it sooner!

  4. Its a gorgeous quilt, just think how beautiful it will look once its all finished and quilted, I recently finished a swoon quilt and I felt a little like you did at one point. Then I started challenging myself to one block every 2 days and it was finished in no time.

  5. That's a beautiful quilt. And the paper plates are brilliant! I've never thought about organizing pieces that way. Good luck finishing!

  6. I've had that happen a few times--especially in the summer when it's hot and I hate ironing! I take a week or two off, and it helps me refocus. Your quilt is beautiful!

  7. Happens to me all the time. I've learned that taking a break from the project and making something small and quick (pillow, mug rug, zipper pouch, etc.) is enough to perk me right up. It's worked wonders for me and I'm way ahead of the game on my Christmas/Birthday gift projects for my friends and family - bonus :-)

    1. That's what I've been doing - quick instant gratification projects! Though if I made gifts that would be a much better use of my time!

  8. Quilt fatigue? Absolutely! I do you you finish these blocks, though. The quilt will be so pretty! I can see why the Kate Spain fabric was calling, too.
