Delicious Finish

My Honey Honey top is finished!

Honey Honey top is finished!

Sorry about the crappy picture. I finished this one at about 3:30am, and couldn't wait to post about it! Can you spot Charlotte? She was helping ;-)

I trucked through and finished the rows and borders in one sitting. It was pretty quick, except for all the pinning! I'm a little particular about my corners - remember these?

I fiddled around with the block layout for about a week or so, trying to even out the values and trying not to put prints in different color ways next to each other. That didn't work as well as I would have liked, I tend to find a print I like and buy it in every color it comes in ;-)

This baby finishes out at 71x86, and the solids are Kona white and candy green. The prints, of course, are Honey Honey by Kate Spain.

It might be a while before I will quilt is one, I forgot to order backing fabric, so that may take a hot second... Decisions, decisions...

So Close!

The other day, I mentioned that I had three blocks left to finish for Honey Honey.

Now I have none :-)

I still need to sew the blocks together, and add the border, but I'm still counting this one as almost done :-)

Quilt Factory.... except not really.

*If you're visiting from Finish it Up Friday, this post is more about me finishing with being lazy than finishing an actual project. If you want a REAL finish, check this out, which didn't make it under the wire for last week's link up!

I was off for a few days and I got trucking with Honey Honey. Last time I checked in, I had cut all the fabric for the quilt. At once.

Yeah. I had to put this one aside for a day or two after that. But then I got excited again. :-)

I'm re-instituting the plate method for this one. It makes it really easy to sort things out, especially when working on a bunch of blocks at once.

Chain piecing like a boss. Be jealous. (of all the little ear trimming... not so much...)

Cutting party!

I started more Honey Honey blocks the other day, and decided to cut fabric for the whole quilt.

All at once.

Needless to say, no blocks got put together that day.

These little squares sure are pretty though!

On a Whim

I busted into some Honey Honey by Kate Spain last week. I've been looking forward to this line for so long!!

I chopped some up and whipped up a block from the Thimble Blossom pattern On a Whim. I'm super stoked about this quilt :-) Its going to be a while in the making though, I'm trying to be good and finish my other projects before I dive in all the way!
