Not taking my own advice...

I know, after saying I was trying to finish this quilt before starting a new one the other day, I promptly went back on my word.

I cut into a FQ stack of Good Fortune that I've been hoarding for a year and a half. I don't know what got into me, I have three other quilts that I've had planned for a while, and that I have all the fabric pulls ready for. I also have this quilt that desperately needs to be finished quilting. That has been a WIP for waaaaay too long.

I guess I just needed a change of scenery?

It is a pretty view...

From Instagram: a fresh jar of selvages and 48 empty plates = a new quilt about to start!

Everything laid out, getting ready to fill those plates!

Here they are, all ready for stitching!

  1. I do the same thing. Sometimes, you just have to go with where the mood takes you! I have some Good Fortune and a quilt idea that has to take a backseat to my PB Hexies and a duvet cover! Sew much to do... sew little time. Can't wait to see your Good Fortune quilt!

    1. Hahaha, my studio is an expression of OCD at its best! The rest of my house does not reflect that tendency!!

  4. I'm not sure I could have resisted cutting into those once the pattern hit me either. And who knew paper plates were such a valuable quilting tool? I use them all the time.

  5. Hmmmmm, the paper plates have me intrigued! And I LOVE Good Fortune! I made a quilt for my youngest daughter from the range, and it's one of my favourites :)

    1. I love it! I think that's why is sat on my shelf for so long. I have a FQ set of the whole line, and I couldn't decide what to do with it that would show off the prints!

  6. What a great system to control the uncontrollable.

Sometimes I need a new project to set me off on finishing the old ones. I think I just might have to do that pretty soon to get back to quilting.
